Copper miners led Monday’s rebound with a 3.01 percent gain, followed by lithium and battery mineral names at plus 1.55 percent. The diversified majors participated: BHP rose 1.68 percent and Rio Tinto 1.44 percent. Gold miners added 1.20 percent and silver miners 1.02 percent, uranium miners 0.51 percent, and rare earth miners 0.41 percent.
The move looks like broad risk-beta rather than company-specific news — no major producer results, guidance changes or operational disruptions drove the session. Copper’s underlying metal rose 1.37 percent to $6.58 a pound on Monday, giving the copper-miner move fundamental cover, while lithium names bounced on M&A sentiment from the Lynas and Titan deals rather than on spodumene pricing.
On a weekly basis the bounce only partially repairs recent damage: gold miners remain down 5.48 percent on the week and rare earth miners down 5.18 percent, reflecting the selloff into last week’s rate spike.
