Commodities Wednesday, October 7, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026 14:14

State-owned Syrian Petroleum Co. plans to more than double crude output to about 250,000 barrels a day by the end of 2027 from roughly 110,000 now, CEO Yousef Qiblawy said in an interview published October 7.

Why it matters: Fresh Syrian barrels are a marginal but symbolic supply addition while Brent trades above $100 with the Hormuz corridor strained.
