Exus Renewables North America acquired four solar projects totaling 715 MW from ibV Energy Partners, in Wisconsin and Louisiana.

Why it matters: Another mid-scale utility solar portfolio moves to an owner-operator with a $400 million credit facility behind it, as developers monetize pipelines to fund builds.

Data as of Reported October 6, 2026 (Mercom), with earlier trade coverage September 30. Transaction terms not disclosed. Projects: Maple Grove Solar 1 and 2 (310 MW, Barron County, Wisconsin), Bayou Teche Solar (125 MW, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana), Bayou Chicot Solar (280 MW, Evangeline Parish, Louisiana). A $400 million Exus credit facility was reported earlier in 2026.

Exus Renewables North America has acquired four solar projects totaling 715 MW from ibV Energy Partners, expanding its development pipeline into Wisconsin and Louisiana. The acquired portfolio comprises Maple Grove Solar 1 and 2, a two-phase project totaling 310 MW in Barron County, Wisconsin, Bayou Teche Solar, a 125 MW project in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, and Bayou Chicot Solar, a 280 MW project in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana.

Exus will advance the projects through their next development stages. ibV chief executive Chris McKissack framed the sale as part of ibV’s develop-to-sell model. Exus chief executive Jim Spencer said the projects are particularly attractive because of their potential to interconnect quickly in markets where demand growth is outpacing available generation, with the company in talks with technology companies and utilities on offtake.

Exus has more than 6 GW of renewable projects in its portfolio, with over 800 MW operating or under construction. The acquisition follows Exus’s March 2026 purchase of Ozone Renewables, its first organizational acquisition, and the closing of a $400 million senior secured corporate credit facility this year for wind, solar and battery expansion. Mercom’s market data show about 25.2 GW of solar projects were acquired in the first half of 2026, up from 19.9 GW a year earlier.
