European Parliament adopted three human-rights resolutions on October 8: on Iran, denouncing the death sentences of Taraneh Rahimi and Leila Abolhasani and calling for gender apartheid to be recognised as a crime against humanity (adopted 541-11-25); on Georgia, condemning Georgian Dream’s attempts to ban opposition parties and naming Ivanishvili, Kobakhidze, Papuashvili and Kaladze for targeted sanctions (445-37-97); and on Azerbaijan, making any future EU partnership conditional on human-rights improvements including the release of political prisoners (492-23-60).
