SigraFi raises $35M to pipe artisanal gold into institutional markets

Mining Thursday, October 8, 2026 · Updated Oct 8, 2026 20:46

UK-based gold offtake company SigraFi secured a $35 million credit facility to finance gold supply from artisanal and small-scale mining cooperatives, starting with 25,000 miners in DRC's Ituri Province.

Why it matters: Artisanal miners produce at least 20% of newly mined gold but sit outside formal supply chains; a financed offtake channel could pull more of that volume into traceable, institutional-grade flows.

SigraFi, a UK-headquartered gold offtake company, secured a $35 million credit facility from a consortium of British and UAE investors led by UAE-based Ronin Commercial Brokers LLC to finance gold supply from artisanal and small-scale (ASGM) cooperatives. The company is working with partner PeaceGold to source from 11 cooperatives representing 25,000 miners in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ituri Province, with plans to expand in the DRC, Zambia, and South America. SigraFi offers guaranteed offtake at competitive pricing, giving cooperatives a larger share of the gold’s value.
