TSMC reported record third-quarter revenue of NT$1.49 trillion ($46.7 billion), up 50 percent from a year earlier and above the NT$1.46 trillion market consensus, on surging AI demand.

Why it matters: The beat, arriving the same day Samsung posted record memory profits, suggests AI chip demand is still accelerating even as equities sell off on rate fears.
