Data as of Items dated October 8-9, 2026. All single-sourced or trade-press origin; terms noted individually. Antara item in Indonesian. Venture funding figures single-sourced to AltAssets.

Lite-On’s US unit signed a $348 million construction deal in Texas, Investing.com reported October 9, the next build-out of the Taiwanese electronics maker’s push into AI power and infrastructure manufacturing. The company is already investing $919 million in its McKinney headquarters and manufacturing campus, announced July 2026, which will design and manufacture AI power and infrastructure solutions. China is letting its provinces draw on $82 billion to shore up growth, Bloomberg reported, a large state-capital deployment as local governments absorb property-sector weakness. The facility works through provincial balance sheets and lands the same week the central budget conversation focuses on growth support.

AI absorbed 83 percent of US venture investment in what AltAssets describes as a record $516 billion market, masking a sharp fundraising divide: megadeals concentrate while smaller managers struggle. The direction is consistent with PitchBook-NVCA’s first-half data showing AI took $355.9 billion of $412.7 billion in US VC, but AltAssets’ full-year figures are single-sourced and treated here as grade C.

SEVA Growth nearly doubled its debut fund size with a $160 million close in under a month, per AltAssets, another sign of appetite for first-time managers with a crisp thesis. TCG Crossover raised $600 million for a debut Asian life-sciences fund, opening Shanghai and Hong Kong offices.

Airtel Money is set to debut on the London market after what Bloomberg calls the capital’s biggest IPO in five years, while windshield-repair group Belron picked banks for a European IPO, also per Bloomberg. Both floats add to a crowded October equity calendar.

Sanlam’s buyout of Santam will take the insurer off the exchange, neweralive reported, a delisting that ends a public-market chapter for South African insurance.

Hallador signed a $711 million power deal with an Indiana utility, Bloomberg reported, another long-dated offtake contract for US thermal generation in a market paying up for dispatchable capacity.

Indonesia’s Danantara is targeting the merger of four state construction companies (BUMN karya) by November, Antara reported in Indonesian, continuing the state investment agency’s consolidation of the industrial portfolio.

Singapore’s Changi Creek will host a $170 million aviation maintenance and repair facility creating more than 500 jobs, the Straits Times reported, a mid-scale infrastructure build in the region’s MRO hub.
