Russian missiles hit Kharkiv homes, eight injured

Politics Monday, October 12, 2026 · Updated Oct 12, 2026 18:52

Russian forces struck Kharkiv with about ten Banderol missiles on Monday evening, injuring eight people, two of them seriously, and destroying part of a four-storey apartment block, the Kharkiv regional administration said.

Why it matters: An evening strike on residential blocks in Ukraine's second city, hours after President Trump conceded both sides had breached his announced energy ceasefire, underlines that the fighting is continuing at full intensity while the truce terms remain unseen in Kyiv.
