The All Progressives Congress has published a revised presidential campaign council for the 2027 general election whose most striking feature is who is not in the APC. Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory minister and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the FCT. Ademola Adeleke, who won re election in Osun in August under the Accord Party, will coordinate in Osun, and Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, re elected in Anambra in November 2025, will coordinate in Anambra.
President Bola Tinubu, the party’s candidate, chairs the council himself, with Vice President Kashim Shettima as vice chairman and party chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as vice chairman II. Imo governor Hope Uzodimma serves as secretary. All 32 APC governors are coordinators in their own states, and the party named governorship candidates to coordinate in states it does not control, including Oyo, Bauchi and Abia.
The list follows an August controversy over an earlier council published on August 22. The Presidency said then that the initial list had not been withdrawn and that adjustments would follow, and this expanded version reworks several senior roles while adding the cross party state coordinators.
Cross party coordination is not a formal coalition, and none of the three men has changed party. Its practical effect is organisational: in Rivers, Osun and Anambra the president’s campaign will run through the sitting state machinery rather than against it, which is the advantage incumbency is supposed to buy. Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the council at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday. Status: announced list, inauguration pending.
