SSR Mining said it will pay C$6.75 a share in cash for Roxmore, a 27 percent premium to the October 9 close, with Roxmore holders also receiving shares in a spin-out company holding its Rattlesnake Hills, Shabu River and Newton exploration properties. The prize is Converse, a heap leach project holding 2.2 million ounces of indicated gold resources, which SSR says could add 150,000 to 170,000 ounces of annual production from 2033 and more than $200 million in life-of-mine synergies next to Marigold. The deal needs Roxmore securityholder and British Columbia court approval, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, and will be funded from SSR’s existing cash, with no material development spending until the early 2030s.
SSR Mining to buy Roxmore for $464 million in Nevada gold deal
SSR Mining has agreed to acquire Roxmore Resources in an all cash deal valued at about $464 million, adding the Converse gold project six kilometres from its Marigold complex in Nevada.
Why it matters: The deal hands SSR a multi-million ounce growth project next to infrastructure it already runs, extending its United States production profile into the 2030s at a time when gold miners are paying up for permitted, heap leach ounces in safe jurisdictions.
