Hamburg-based solar and home energy company 1KOMMA5 has secured about 70 million euros, roughly $78 million, in a new funding round. b2venture led, Japanese cleantech growth fund Marunouchi Innovation Partners joined as a new shareholder, and existing investors CalSTRS, eCapital, G2 Venture Partners and Eurazeo participated. The round values the company at $1.35 billion before the new investment, up 35 percent from July 2025.
The company plans to invest more than 100 million euros in its Heartbeat AI platform in 2027, combining the new equity with 35 million euros from operating cash flow. Heartbeat connects and controls residential solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, EV chargers and air conditioning, and sells electricity on the exchange on customers’ behalf.
Scale claims are the strategic point. The platform aggregates more than 1GW of flexible capacity across five markets, optimizes over 100,000 energy systems, and the company says it has installed more than 300,000 decentralized controllable systems, making it one of Europe’s largest residential virtual power plants.
The equity sits on top of much larger debt capacity: in recent months the company secured financing facilities of up to 1.5 billion euros from banks to fund growth across public-sector and private customers. The structure, modest equity over large bank facilities over a software layer, is the emerging template for European home energy consolidation.
