1KOMMA5, the Hamburg based energy platform, has raised 78 million dollars in a round that values the company above 1 billion dollars, funding the expansion of its Heartbeat energy management system and its installer network across European markets.
The company’s model is the residential energy stack sold as one product: solar, battery, heat pump and a software layer that trades the household’s flexibility against power prices. The valuation says investors still believe that stack consolidates into a small number of platforms, and that the software, not the panels, is where the margin ends up.
The raise lands in a European market where rooftop economics have been reset by lower power prices and subsidy changes; growth from here is about attach rates and grid services revenue, the two numbers the next funding round will be judged on.
