The European Commission has disbursed 2.86 billion euros to Ukraine earmarked for drones, missiles and urgent battlefield needs, the Commission announced in a press release, the latest tranche of military financing to move from Brussels to Kyiv this autumn.
The disbursement is deliberately specific in its language. Rather than general budget support, the release ties the money to named battlefield categories, drones and missiles first among them, reflecting how European funding has shifted toward supplying the systems Ukraine consumes fastest.
The transfer reached Kyiv in the same week that Ukraine resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries after the collapse of the informal energy ceasefire, a development published here this morning, and as EU leaders in Brussels weigh the next phase of Ukraine financing, including the unresolved question of frozen Russian assets.
