Intuitive Machines has won a NASA contract worth up to 209.6 million dollars to provide lunar logistics and cargo delivery services, the company announced, extending its role from lander missions into the supply chain of the Artemis programme’s surface campaign.
The contract’s shape matters: logistics awards are the unglamorous layer where lunar programmes become infrastructure, with recurring service revenue replacing the one off mission fees that have made the sector’s listed names so volatile. For Intuitive Machines, whose landers have flown the company’s flag and its share price in both directions, a multi year services ceiling is the closest thing to an annuity the lunar economy currently offers.
The award also keeps the pattern of this edition: public money, NASA’s here, the EIB’s and the Commission’s in Europe, is the anchor tenant of the new infrastructure economy, with private capital pricing itself off government demand.
