Souffle Therapeutics has raised 135 million dollars to develop three RNA medicines, Endpoints News reported, backing the company’s push to deliver siRNA therapies to tissues beyond the liver, the delivery problem that has bounded the RNA field since its first approvals.
Liver delivery works because the liver takes up nanoparticles and conjugates by design; muscle, lung, immune and other tissues do not cooperate as easily, and each company claiming extrahepatic delivery is claiming the field’s next decade of indications. Souffle’s three programme structure spreads that bet: if the delivery platform works in one tissue, the pipeline argues it works as a system.
The round joins this week’s pattern, 310 million for OMass and 150 million in Iambic’s IPO, in which platform companies with a delivery or discovery edge are still commanding large cheques while single asset stories struggle.
