OMass Therapeutics has raised 310 million dollars, Endpoints News reported, structured in two tranches of 160 million and 150 million dollars, to fund its programme in congenital adrenal hyperplasia, a genetic disorder of the adrenal glands that leaves patients dependent on steroid replacement.
The target market is newly competitive. Neurocrine’s Crenessity, approved in late 2024, was the first drug designed for the condition, and Vertex has a candidate in development, so OMass is raising against incumbents rather than into a vacuum. Its claim rests on the profile of its molecule, a CRF1 receptor antagonist approach aimed at controlling the hormone excess that steroids manage crudely today.
The financing structure tells its own story. Two tranches, with the second presumably milestone linked, is how private investors now fund Phase 2 risk in a company that a decade ago would simply have gone public. This item is single sourced and is carried at grade C on that basis.
