Ukraine’s air force said Russia attacked overnight with Iskander-M and KN-23 ballistic missiles, Kh-22/32 and Kalibr cruise missiles and 332 drones, and that air defences neutralised all four Kalibrs and 293 drones while hits were recorded in 22 locations, NV reported. In Vinnytsia, Mayor Serhiy Morgunov said the city was left without electricity, critical infrastructure was running on backup power, the main water station had no supply and electric transport had stopped. NV also reported a morning strike on Kherson killed a 64-year-old ambulance driver and wounded 12 people, and that strikes on Zaporizhzhia wounded five, including a child. Kherson governor Oleksandr Prokudin later put the Kherson toll at one person killed, the ambulance driver, and 19 injured, including a child, Arab News reported.
Russian barrage blacks out Vinnytsia, hits 22 locations
Ukraine's air force said Russia launched ballistic and cruise missiles and 332 drones overnight, leaving the city of Vinnytsia without power or mains water and recording hits in 22 locations.
Why it matters: The barrage extends Russia's campaign against Ukraine's power grid into another regional capital, on top of Friday's attacks that cut power to more than a million people, as the energy ceasefire effort has collapsed.
