OFAC designates five Chinese entities under intellectual property act

Politics Monday, October 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026 11:07

The Office of Foreign Assets Control on Monday added five Chinese entities to its Non-SDN Menu-Based Sanctions List under the Protecting American Intellectual Property Act of 2022, including the Beijing venture firm MiraclePlus and its two renminbi funds.

Why it matters: The designations block the entities' property, bar United States investment in their equity or debt, and cut them off from United States banking and foreign exchange transactions, extending Washington's intellectual property sanctions from individuals to a Chinese venture capital manager and its funds.
