Rates Monday, October 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026 01:45

The Reserve Bank of India allotted Rs 1,00,014 crore in a seven-day variable rate repo on Monday at a cut-off of 5.51 percent, drawing bids of Rs 1,50,735 crore against Rs 1,00,000 crore notified.

Why it matters: An injection of this size, bid one and a half times over, while banks were still parking Rs 1,58,474 crore in the deposit facility on Friday, shows the split in near term liquidity that the RBI said it was reviewing after weeks in which its operations ran mainly in the absorbing direction.
