LSEG said the purchase will be financed with external debt and is expected to be neutral to adjusted earnings in the first full year after completion and to add to earnings after that. Chief executive David Schwimmer said combining Octus’s proprietary data and intelligence with the group’s data and analytics business creates a powerful offering for customers and further accelerates growth, and LSEG said Octus’s product set and customer coverage are highly complementary to its existing fixed income products. Octus employs journalists, analysts and legal experts to provide credit market information, focused on companies in financial distress, to banks and investors.
The agreement arrived alongside a third quarter update in which LSEG raised its 2026 outlook, forecasting organic total income excluding recoveries to grow at least 8 percent at constant currency after beating expectations for the quarter. LSEG shares rose about 2 percent in early London trading. The stock is roughly flat this year and about 26 percent below its February 2025 peak, and it had fallen earlier this month after the group confirmed the Octus talks, a slide this site covered on October 13.
