Accenture has acquired Avicado, a Miami based construction technology consultancy, the company announced on October 20. Avicado, founded in 2015, specialises in implementing and integrating project management platforms including Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Trimble and Oracle Primavera, and it also provides programme delivery services, acting as owner representative on site selection, procurement, controls and scheduling.
More than 190 Avicado professionals will join Accenture Construct in the United States. Accenture Construct, launched in September, brings together the firm’s capital projects advisory, engineering, delivery and technology work and has more than 5,000 practitioners globally, according to Consulting.us reporting of the deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Avicado’s clients are large project owners across data centres, transportation, government and public infrastructure, commercial real estate, education, healthcare, manufacturing, power and water. That client list is the point of the acquisition: the binding constraint on the current capital spending wave is delivery capacity and project controls, and Accenture is buying a specialist team rather than hiring one.
