Verizon has signed an AI infrastructure deal with Amazon Web Services worth more than $2 billion, expanding its partnership with the hyperscaler under a commercial framework to scale distributed compute for agentic and generative AI workloads. The carrier announced the deal on Monday as it reported third-quarter operating revenue of $34.3 billion, up 1.5 percent year on year, and raised its full-year guidance for the third quarter in a row.

Chief executive Dan Schulman said demand across dark fiber, lit fiber and edge compute locations is exceptionally strong, that Verizon has signed long-term contracts worth approximately $4 billion in total, and that further hyperscalers, neocloud providers and large enterprises are in negotiations. The AWS agreement follows a $1 billion dark fiber deal with Google and a multi-year Corning supply agreement covering more than 80 million miles of high-density optical fiber through 2032.
