QTS, the data centre operator owned by Blackstone, is looking to raise about $800 million through a private placement of debt, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Why it matters: Private placements are becoming a core funding channel for AI data centres, letting operators tap insurance and pension money directly at long tenors instead of relying on bank loans or public bonds.

Data as of Single-sourced: Bloomberg report of October 26, 2026, citing unnamed people familiar with the matter; grade capped at C. QTS, Blackstone and the arranging banks declined to comment or did not respond, per the report.

QTS, the data centre operator owned by Blackstone, is preparing a private placement of around $800 million of debt, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The notes would be issued through QTS Thunder Managing Issuer LLC, could mature in seven to fifteen years, and pricing could come as early as this week, according to the report.

Mizuho, Natixis, Societe Generale and Wells Fargo are arranging the deal, and part of the proceeds would refinance existing QTS debt, one person briefed on the plan told Bloomberg. QTS, Mizuho and Natixis did not respond to requests for comment, and Blackstone, Societe Generale and Wells Fargo declined to comment.

The placement, if completed as reported, adds to the flow of AI infrastructure financing being placed directly with institutional lenders rather than raised in public markets. QTS is one of the largest data centre platforms in the United States and a core holding of Blackstone’s infrastructure and real estate funds. No terms have been confirmed by the company.
