Houthis claim drone attacks on two Saudi airports

Yemen's Houthi movement said on Monday it attacked Saudi Arabia's Dammam and Jizan airports with drones over the past 48 hours, a claim Saudi authorities had not confirmed.

Why it matters: The claim follows a Houthi warning on Sunday against airlines using Saudi airspace, and a confirmed hit would mark a further widening of the Yemen war's air campaign against Saudi infrastructure.

Data as of Prensa Latina report of November 2, 2026, in Spanish, read in full in this run. The airport attacks are a claim by Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree, a party to the Yemen conflict, with no Saudi statement or independent confirmation of the Dammam and Jizan claims at check time. Yemen’s Houthi movement said on Monday that it attacked the airports at Dammam, in eastern Saudi Arabia, and Jizan, in the southwest, with drones during the past 48 hours. Military spokesman Yahya Saree said two drones struck Dammam airport and interrupted air traffic there, and that a drone attacked an early-warning radar and a military transport aircraft at Jizan, with no details given on damage or casualties, and Saudi authorities had issued no statement on those claims.

Separately, the Saudi-led coalition said its air defences intercepted and destroyed two drones in the Riyadh region and a ballistic missile it said the Houthis launched toward southern Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Civil Defence said alerts had ended in Abha, Najran, Khamis Mushait and Taif without specifying the threats involved.
