Formation Bio has raised $600 million for a debut fund targeting 10 to 15 clinical-stage drug acquisitions over three to five years, per its PR Newswire release of October 28 to 29, carried by AltAssets on November 2. The item belongs primarily to the life-sciences beat and is noted here only because the fund structure, buying drug assets rather than companies, is a capital formation story.
Seaya reports another 600 million euro close. AltAssets reported that Madrid-based Seaya has secured 600 million euros at the first close of a European growth fund targeting 1 billion euros, alongside a London office opening. That description differs from the 600 million euro Seaya Novo venture fund covered here on October 22, which was reported as fully raised; whether the growth fund is a separate vehicle or the same raise described differently could not be resolved from the paywalled AltAssets item, so it is flagged rather than written as a new fund.
