US envoy Steve Witkoff said the United States will bring Ukrainian and Russian delegations together in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11, with Witkoff and Jared Kushner as the lead US negotiators.
Why it matters: The round would be the first US mediated trilateral meeting since February, and President Putin agreed to it after meeting Witkoff in St. Petersburg, though the two sides remain far apart on the terms of any settlement.

US envoy Steve Witkoff said on Monday that the United States will bring together delegations from Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10 and 11, and a senior US official told Reuters that Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the lead US negotiators, are expected to represent the United States. Witkoff said the discussions will cover post war security agreements, de escalation, humanitarian measures and ending the war, and that President Vladimir Putin agreed to the new round after meeting him in St. Petersburg two weeks ago.
The official said US negotiators will also meet at working level this week in Brussels with representatives from France, Germany, Britain, the European Union and NATO to discuss Ukraine’s security guarantees, Europe’s future security framework and economic support for Ukraine’s reconstruction. The last US mediated peace talks took place in February, and Ukraine and Russia remain far apart on terms.
