Igneo Infrastructure Partners has closed the fourth vintage of its European Diversified Infrastructure Strategy at its 6 billion euro hard cap, the manager announced on November 2, six months after the strategy’s first close. The fund was oversubscribed against a 4 billion euro target and is about 11 percent larger than the previous vintage, which also reached its hard cap, in October 2025.
More than 90 investors committed, across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America, with Germany, the United States and Australia the largest sources of capital. The investor base spans pension funds, insurers, sovereign investors and family offices, mixing long standing relationships with new institutional partners, the company said.
The strategy has already made its first investment, the September 2026 acquisition of Neumann Group, a German incinerator bottom ash recycling platform. Igneo said it has a strong pipeline for the balance of the fund and intends to invest selectively, holding to the mid market segment across energy, waste and water, transport and digital infrastructure rather than upsizing the vehicle to meet demand.
Hamish Lea Wilson, Igneo’s head of Europe, said investor demand would have supported a much larger strategy, and that the firm chose to stay in the part of the market where its team has deep experience. Lazard acted as global placement agent and Simmons and Simmons as lead legal adviser. Igneo, an autonomous affiliate of First Sentier Group, manages about $34.6 billion including undrawn commitments.
