IMF staff and the Jordanian authorities have reached a staff-level agreement on the sixth review of Jordan’s Extended Fund Facility and the third review of its Resilience and Sustainability Facility arrangement, the Fund said on Tuesday. Completion of the two reviews, subject to approval by IMF management and the Executive Board, would make a total of SDR 216.548 million, about 294 million dollars, available: SDR 97.784 million, about 133 million dollars, under the EFF, and SDR 118.764 million, about 161 million dollars, under the RSF.
The Fund said all quantitative performance criteria and most structural benchmarks for the sixth review were met, and all three reform measures due for the third RSF review are on track. Real GDP growth reached 3 percent year on year in the first half of 2026, the central government comfortably met its primary deficit target for end-June despite a revenue shortfall of about 0.8 percent of GDP, and the draft 2027 budget aims for a primary deficit, excluding grants, of 0.9 percent of GDP, on a path the Fund says would reduce public debt to around 80 percent of GDP by 2028.
