Technology Thursday, November 5, 2026 - Updated Nov 5, 2026 17:44

IonQ reported third quarter revenue of $173.8 million, up 336 percent from a year earlier, and raised its full year 2026 revenue guidance to between $505 million and $515 million as its backlog more than doubled to $1.2 billion.

Why it matters: The results are the strongest revenue print yet from a listed pure-play quantum company, and the raised guidance tests whether quantum hardware revenue can keep compounding at this pace into 2027.

Data as of IonQ's earnings release for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to its Form 8-K of November 5, 2026 (accession 0001193125-26-449779) and read in full in this run; all figures are the filing's own, and the statement that revenue and earnings beat consensus estimates is the company's own. IonQ reported revenue of $173.8 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, up 336 percent from a year earlier and its sixth consecutive record quarter, with platform segment revenue up 127 percent to $90.3 million and SkyWater foundry services revenue of $83.5 million. Remaining performance obligations more than doubled to $1.2 billion, and the company raised its full year 2026 revenue guidance to between $505 million and $515 million.

GAAP net income attributable to IonQ was $564.0 million, or $1.42 per share, which the company said reflects the non-cash mark-to-market impact of warrants, while the adjusted EBITDA loss was $133.6 million. IonQ said it held $3.7 billion in cash, cash equivalents and investments at September 30 on a pro-forma basis for its October 16 equity offering, and that it is extending its quantum security platform by acquiring Elisity, a zero trust company.
