Mining also notable: streaming, rare earths and boardroom moves

Mining Friday, November 6, 2026 - Updated Nov 6, 2026 07:20

Triple Flag kept its raised 2026 sales guidance, Phoenix Tailings lined up $54.2 million in incentives for its Rochester rare earth plant, Labrador Gold opened a strategic review, and Gem Resources changed chief executive.

Why it matters: Together the smaller items show where mining capital is moving this week: streamers compounding at high prices, United States rare earth processing stacking public incentives, and juniors testing whether their structure is worth more than their projects.

Data as of Company announcements November 3 to 6, 2026.

Triple Flag stays on track. Triple Flag Precious Metals reported third quarter revenue of $106.7 million from sales of 25,030 gold equivalent ounces, with operating cash flow per share of $0.45, up 15 percent year on year, and net earnings of $64.2 million. The streamer said it remains on track to achieve sales between the midpoint and the top half of its increased 2026 guidance of 100,000 to 110,000 gold equivalent ounces, kept its 2030 outlook of 150,000 to 160,000 ounces unchanged, and declared a quarterly dividend of $0.06 a share, payable December 15.

Phoenix Tailings stacks incentives in Rochester. Phoenix Tailings’ Freedom project, a rare earth separation facility at Eastman Business Park in Rochester, New York, will benefit from an estimated $54.2 million in state, local and infrastructure incentives, including up to $3 million in Excelsior Jobs tax credits and about $15.9 million in New York State investment tax credits. The support sits alongside a previously announced $500 million conditional loan from the United States Department of War’s Office of Strategic Capital. Freedom Separation is designed to process more than 18,000 tons of rare earth feedstock a year and produce more than 4,400 tons of separated rare earth oxides at full capacity, supporting more than 200 jobs, with production ramping in 2027 and full production planned for 2028.

Labrador Gold opens a strategic review. Labrador Gold’s board has begun a review of strategic alternatives after a completed financing strengthened its balance sheet. Options under review include separating its exploration business from its investment activities into a separately capitalised investment issuer, asset divestitures, joint ventures and earn in arrangements, and changes to capital allocation and corporate structure. The board intends to complete the review by January 15, 2027, with no assurance it will result in a transaction. The company has 286,012,288 shares issued and outstanding.

Gem Resources changes chief executive. Gem Resources plc announced on November 6 that Robert Nigel Chapman has been appointed chief executive officer and an executive director with immediate effect. Dr Bernard Olivier steps down as chief executive on the same date and remains on the board as a non-executive director, a move the company said reflects his decision to reduce executive responsibilities to focus on other business interests.
