Groq is approaching investors about a new funding round at an 8 billion dollar valuation before the new money, Bloomberg reported on November 6. Executive chairman Alex Davis has contacted investors about the round, according to documents described in the report, arguing that Groq can grow margins without taking on much debt and criticising rivals for piling up financial obligations. The ask is about two and a half times the 3.15 billion dollar pre-money valuation of Groq’s August 2026 round, which followed Nvidia’s licensing deal for the company’s inference technology and the departure of its founding team to Nvidia. Groq and Davis’s firm Disruptive declined to comment, and the amount Groq seeks to raise was not reported.
PS Logistics continues its roll-up of American flatbed trucking. Its subsidiary Loudon County Trucking has acquired substantially all the assets of Roane Transportation Services, Roane Logistics and B&W Leasing, the company announced on November 5. Rockwood, Tennessee-based Roane, founded in 1996, hauls aluminium, steel, electrical products and building materials across the Southeast and Midwest with more than 170 company, lease-purchase and owner-operator drivers and 189 power units, and adds freight brokerage and warehousing through Roane Logistics. Roane will operate as Roane Transportation, a division of Loudon County Trucking, with co-founder Steve Kennedy staying in charge. Financial terms were not disclosed. PS Logistics says it has acquired 32 trucking operations and five non-asset logistics operations since 2016.
